Wolverine Legend passes on

It was something that I saw out of the corner of my eye at work and it was so shocking it demanded a second then third look. I read it and had the same reaction that my boss had when I told him... No way.
The sad news that former Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler had collapsed and later died on Friday at the age of 77 was sobering news on the eve of the Wolverines-Buckeyes showdown in Columbus saturday. The fact that this is 1 vs 2 with the winner all but guaranteed a slot in the BCS championship in January. This loss affects both schools as Schembechler was an assistant to Buckeye coaching giant Woody Hayes from 1958-1963. Schembechler and Hayes became archrivals after the former became the head coach at Michigan in 1969. Both schools while deadly rivals, share the same loss as the hard nosed Schembechler was the epitome of coaching toughness and class that both schools share and admire about each other but would never admit openly. Its a painful loss, I hope that whoever wins exudes the class and integrity in victory and defeat that Schembechler was a symbol of.
