The Death of Sean Taylor: Does Lifestyle=Deathstyle?

I was stunned to hear of the passing today of Redskins DB Sean Taylor after being shot by an intruder in his Miami home. This young man was only 24. He had already made the Pro Bowl and was known throught the NFL as one of its biggest hitters.

That said, I was dismayed at hearing the tone on some talk shows.
"...when you run in the wrong circles bad things happen."
"His high living caught up with him."
"Live that life and you'll pay for it."
"His lifestyle ultimately wrote his deathstyle."

Huh???

I'm not here to portray Taylor as a saint, he did have a criminal record for brandishing a weapon. But to paint this man a "ghetto thug." before all the facts come out is reckless and downright stupid. Regardless of the crowd he was allegedly running with.
To stereotype Taylor as a rich thug who got caught up is very irresponsible. How many athletes are targeted because they have money, many that I know are extremely guarded about who they let into their house and are often the focal points of death threats or extortion attempts. It wouldn't surprise me to know that was the case with Taylor, but in any case. This young man was killed way before his time. To say he "deserved it" sickens me.
The man wasn't in the streets, he was in his home when an intruder broke in and shot him. Let me repeat that salient point. he was in his home. To those that I've read and heard say. Oh, he deserved it. No one short of maybe Tony Montana needs to be shot in their home if at all. This is a sad episode and while I will wait to hear all the facts regarding the shooting. The facts are this, a young man and father of a young girl dead in a senseless shooting.

That in itself is a damn shame.
