Thoughts on everything from bad agents to big scores

Hold on a minute...I think that Kansas just scored on Nebraska again.

I think that A-Rod is being mind manipulated by uber-agent Scott Boras. When are people going to realize that these so called super agents like Boras and Drew "Next Question" Rosenhaus are hurting the games of the players that they represent with their demands. This is one of the few times that I was glad to see the Yankees be at least a little fiscally responsible. $350 million for a player that has played in fewer world series games than Barry Larkin. Who was a good player in his own right but without the numbers, Larkin had performed capably in the playoffs and has something that A-Rod doesn't...a ring. A-Rod is a great player, but $350 xtra large is too much even for a player that will hit over 800 homers before he's done. But then again there's always Tom Hicks to make another stupid contract offer to consider...

Do you think that NBC is wishing that they could get out of their contract with Notre Fraud...er Dame? The Irish apologists want you to believe that its still Ty Willingham's fault. Yeah and the deficit is Clinton's fault too... The Irish and their fans are coming to the sobering reality that they are no longer relevant in the college football world and no one fears them anyone. But dont'cha think UCLA is feeling awful, they are the only team to take an L to them. But there is one thing that still annoys me and ya'll know I'm the type to find something to beef about regarding Notre Dame, they despite their 1-8 record will still get a BCS payout. Their contract that they have entitiles them to 1/66th share of the BCS booty regardless of their record so they still will get more money with at least 8 losses than my beloved alma mater may get if they go to a non-BCS bowl. That aint right.

I think I said it in my last post, but I was glad to see the Pats-Colts game live up to the hype, but leave it to Hoodie Man to have to whine about something. He accused the Colts of "piping in noise." CBS quickly stepped up and said the noise was residual feedback. Having had worked in media, I know that is possible. Throw in the virtual bandbox that the RCA Dome is for football and you have some weird acoustics to be sure. But Belichick is getting all Nixon-like with his questing for every advantage. With apologies to Mo, Sully and all the other fine Pats fans that I know, its getting harder to root for the Patriots now as they are starting to get that Evil Empire look. Good thing for ya'll that Brady is a Michigan Man...

Once and for all I want folks to get off of Chad Johnson. The media honks and wonks are piling on Ocho Cinco as the Bengals have struggled with to a 2-6 record. Since Randy Moss has been a model citizen and TO has been the potrait of stabiity and team play during the Pokes 7-1 start the media has been needing a locquacuious wideout to pick on. They see #85 and since they haven't had a chance to dog on the Bengals in 5 years are taking their shots en masse. Calling Johnson selfish and mocking his being hurt late in the game against Buffalo. It turns out that Johnson was not seriously hurt on a hit by a Bills DB but the media accused Johnson of faking it to lessen his liability for the Bengals bad 1st half of a season. Lets just look at it this way, Is Johnson playing defense? No, I don't think that was Johnson who was blatantly missing tackles on MarShawn Lynch's late TD run that should have been a 2 yard loss. It wasn't Johnson who cant get any pentration on the QB and made JP Losman look like an all-pro. It wasn't Chad Johnson who only gained 11 yards rushing. Lets lay the blame where it is due.

Speaking of laying the blame and a squad that has fallen fast, lets look at Nebraska. Bill Callahan has more or less ruined that once proud program quick. At least Notre Dame's fall was slow and gradual. Nebraska's was sudden, shocking and swift. Kansas was the regular punching bag for Nebraska. But when the Jayhawks drop 76 on the famed Blackshirts. Something ain't right. Now You know that the clock is ticking on Callahan's departure. I wonder how many for sale signs were in his yard when he got home late Saturday or early Sunday?
Do you think Husker fans aren't wishing that they had run a good coach like Frank Solich, Tom Osborne's hand picked succesor, outta town? This situation wont get any better anytime soon, Husker Nation. At least you dont have Oklahoma on your schedule this year, if Kansas drop 76 what would the Sooners have done???

Until Next Post Fellow Sports Fans!
